Annie Jones is our most recent addition to The Right Paw! Annie is our 'public exposure' instructor, teaching our TIP – Training In Public group classes... TIP will be a multi-level training experience for our students.
Annie expects to continue our clients training through supervised proper socialization experiences during her classes held out in the real world. Clients will, with Annie's guidance, prepare themselves and their dogs to be successful out in public. We foresee the majority of our clients partaking in her classes for the sole purpose of increasing reliability in their companion’s behaviors out in public. This is also the first step for a small percentage of our clientele having the goal of creating their own personal or families emotional support dogs, therapy dogs, and service dogs! Since 2010 Annie’s been working with (and volunteering her free time) to two Prison Pups In Training programs within the service dog training industry! Annie is the perfect fit to help all of these clients!
Annie holds her certification in Animal Assisted Therapy, earned through Harcum College, is a Canine Good Citizen evaluater through the American Kennel Club (AKC) AND the Association for Professional Dog Trainers. (APDT) She has completed the Pet Tech CPR, First Aid and Care class.
Maddy her Standard Poodle, along with Annie is a certified therapy team for Tufts Paws for People through Pet Partners. TPP is an organization whose mission is improving health through the power of therapy animals. The “Maddy and Annie" tea work with children in reading programs, visit nursing homes and volunteer their time with people in hospice care. Annie currently also volunteers for the Central Mass Disaster Animal Rescue Team.
Annie believes that no matter how long we have been working, we will always benefit from furthering our education… “Yes you can teach and old dog new tricks”… with this in mind she attends annual conferences, workshops and training seminars. She is a member in good standing of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and the International Association of Assistance Dog Partners.
She and her husband share their home in Northern Central Massachusetts with their three dogs, two Nigerian goats, a flock of chickens and ducks. We think it’s safe to say... she has a warm heart for those in need.
We feel so blessed to have Annie and we welcome her into The Right Paw Pack!
