Kindergarten Puppy Training
Kindergarten Puppy Training, also known as KPT class, is for all breeds of puppies... be it mixed breed or purebred. The class is geared for eight week old to sixteen week old puppies.
Current studies have shown that the primary time of a puppy's development is prior to sixteen weeks. Early socialization and extensive "world experience" is essential to having a well adjusted adult dog. Kindergarten Puppy Training will help you achieve this landmark.
One of the things that makes our class stand out is that we include the whole family. We welcome and encourage all family members interested in working with the puppy to attend. Group participation is important for the consistency within the training process. The instructors at The Right Paw are family oriented and enjoy this atmosphere. We do ask that children in attendance are able to absorb direction and express interested in participating in the class.
KPT is a six week course, one hour per week.Classes are limited to eight pups per class.

No correction collars (choke collars) are used in KPT classes. Supplies/Tools that are used in KPT are gentle leaders, food, toys, treats, petting, play and a good word. Dogs learn through association. It is our job to teach you to teach the dog through positive association and reinforcement.

KPT also discusses dog behavior during socialization (playtime). Observing the pups at play is not only entertaining but is also educational. Playtime is the perfect time for the instructor to share their knowledge on how to 'talk dog'.
Important Information
As with all of our classes, KPT can fill three weeks prior to the starting date. Pre-Registration along with current vaccination proof is required. All puppies must be appropriately vaccinated for their current age in order to participate in class. In other words, a nine week old puppy will have had fewer vaccines than a twenty week old puppy. We recommend a Kennel Cough vaccine for this class, but it is not required.
Registration and Schedule
Check the class schedule page for up and coming classes. It is recommended that you download and print out the class registration form.. Registration forms can be filled out and sent to the Right Paw, along with the class fee of $175.00 and a copy of dog's vaccinations.
Refund policy: Refunds are only given with at least a 24-hour notice of drop out prior to the first class. This is so that we can fill your spot in the class.
