What started out as her hobby quickly turned into her
career. Darlynn started working with clients over 21 years ago. Her business
was under her name at the time, Darlynn Tracy ~ Canine Counselor. She worked
with clients one on one in their homes or at a mutually agreed upon location.
She was living in southern Maine at the time. A local veterinary clinic (Wells
Veterinary Clinic) approached her requesting she run group classes. With the
assistance of the clinic, classes were held in Wells ME.
She was divorced and relocated herself and her young son back ‘home’ to central Mass. Through time, she felt the need to give the business a new name to incorporate all of the skills she had to provide. She was a veterinary technician, a groomer, and a trainer and had products for resale…THE RIGHT PAW arrived in central Massachusetts sometime between 1992-1993.
Darlynn has been active in the sport of dogs for over 21 years. She has trained her own dogs to compete in Field Trials, Agility, Obedience, Confirmation, Earth Dog and Tracking. Which in turn lead her to work on Search and Rescue training, Frisbee just for fun and a long line of individual tricks put to music for a stage performance ‘Trouble with Amazing Mandy and Calamity Cliff’.
She has been a speaker for many local schools educating students on DOG SAFETY and training and caring for your dog in general. She has been a clinician for various Girl Scout troops, public events, veterinary clinics, Kennel clubs and other animal related assistant groups such as Trigger point myotherapists.
One of the endeavors she is most proud of was the event she created, a practice dog show called ‘Dog Day Match’ for the local charitable group Why Me, Inc. With the assistance of many volunteers this successful fundraiser ran for over seven years. The event was held in Holden MA at Wachusett Regional High School. This culminated her two passions, showcasing canines and their accomplished handlers in a fun and educational way, along with giving back to society for such a worthy cause.
In her free time she can be found in the woods hiking with her friends and companions, kayaking, or riding one of her two horses on the trails in New England. She feels truly blessed with the humans and animals that surround her in her life. She is the proud mother of three boys and one girl. She is very thankful for the love and support she receives from her wonderful husband, Mark.
